Here are my thoughts and key takeaways from a fantastic #vive2024: ➡ Innovating effectively in the healthcare industry requires consideration of the whole ecosystem. This approach entails meeting both patients and health care providers where they are in their respective care journeys. Health technology innovators and health care providers should engage early and often to develop better, more integrated solutions. ➡ Commercial payors continue to lag in payment innovation and implementation of value-based care models, but they continue to progress. Some payors have created "sandboxes" to validate the implementation of proposed digital health solutions and innovative care approaches. ➡ Hospital-based virtual care will continue to gain momentum in 2024. Virtual care modalities may reduce the burden of hospital staff shortages and lack of hospital space and allow the in-person teams to focus on the more complex and acute cases. ➡ There is strong stakeholder support for aggregator technology to increase interoperability across the growing point solutions. These aggregators would combine the benefit of more data and technology with a reduced burden for the health care providers to review and monitor the exponentially growing data and outputs manually. ➡ As an Advisor and recent General Counsel in the telenutrition industry, food as medicine is near and dear to me. Nutrition is often overlooked as a key driver for overall health. Improving nutrition is not limited to access to healthier food. It often requires education and behavioral change over time. We cannot expect nutrition to improve long-term by providing temporary access to healthier food or only allowing patients limited access to #telenutrition visits.
